What causes boilover in a 1997 chrysler concorde, from the coolant reservoir drain hose?
Q. 1997 Chrysler Concorde, the top of the coolant reservoir (this car doesn't have access to the actual radiator, if you need to add fluid has to be done from the coolant reservoir) has the drain hose in case of overfill or boilover. The drain hose is attached to the reservoir, but the other end is not attached to anything. I noticed it overheating today, and when looking under the hood couldn't see any leaks. Under the car, there was a slight leak coming from the side of the reservoir (passenger side) almost behind and in front of the wheel. When I cut the car off, water started shooting from the hose for boilovers. That either shouldn't happen, or it should be routed back into the tank. Any clue what causes this? The fans work, and the top… [cont.]

A. either the thermostat may be sticking on it,or the radiator may be getting stopped up in the bottom of it ,that will cause them to do this real bad,and the only way to stop this is take the radiator off ,and have it cleaned out,it would be a good idea to have this done anyway ,if that's not it you can at least rule that out,but those cars were good for that, that would be where i would start looking on that one, ,that and the thermostat, good luck on it.

How much does it cost to replace the leather interior in a 1997 lexus sc400 Is the leather good quality?
Q. is it difficult to replace or recover the front seats of a 1997 lexus sc400. If you replace old stained torn leather front seats, will the quality of the leather be as good as the original? Do lexus dealerships do this work?
Asked by J W - Mon Mar 12 22:39:32 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. With leather you really get what you pay for. Cheap leather well...is cheap in quality. I think it will cost you alot to start replacing leather on the seats. A better bet, where the cost can be immediately known, is to get some good seats out of another lexus that is being wrecked. Then simply a matter of bolting into your vehicle.

A. If its rear wheel drive then no. You can remove the driveshaft and withdraw the transmission straight back. If its front wheel drive its more then often easier to remove the entire engine and and set it down on the floor and work on it.
